Tourist Robber in PNG posts his loot on Facebook

A young tourist robber who had robbed foreign tourists in Madang, Papua New Guinea had posted his loot with his full body on Facebook. [See update below]

The foreign tourists have been visiting the town of Madang when they met their fate.

However, after their ordeal, they were informed of picture of a young man posting his loot, which happened to be their belongings.

Important valuables including cameras, passports, bank cards and other items have been stolen.

They are appealing to the local authorities to apprehend the criminal.

Madang, no longer safe

The local town has seen a surge in criminal activities and people are calling on the government to intervene immediately.

Local youths can be seen consuming weed (marijuana) and alcohol, especially yawah a local home-brew, openly. They consume in public places, towns, settlements, in buses and even at schools.

Residents are appealing to the Government to address lawlessness throughout the country.

Papua New Guinea is among the most cautioned places for tourists.

It’s cultural diversities, magnificent scenery and jaw-dropping festivals are hindered by uncontrollable criminal activities.

UPDATE: World News NBC is informed that those items, as shown in the picture, are not the same items being robbed from the tourists.

The young man was interviewed by local authorities only to find that he wasn’t the robber.

World News NBC retracts the story and apologizes to the young man and to anyone who is affected by this story, including the Local MP. This story will be pulled down shortly.

However, criminal activities are confirmed to be rampant in this small Pacific Town and other urban centers of the country.

Citizens are calling on their leaders to act now and not to give excuses or to divert attention with knee-jerk reactions.
